A Collection of Memories and Life Stories Left After a Loved One Passes
“Tell me how he died...”
“I will tell you how he lived.”
-The Last Samurai
“Know How I Lived” is a heartfelt service dedicated to preserving the stories that define us. As a Licensed Social Worker, I interview individuals capturing their life’s journey, wisdom, and personality on video. These recordings offer loved ones a lasting glimpse into the essence of those they cherish, ensuring that their legacy continues to inspire and connect across generations. In a world where memories can fade, we create a timeless tribute, allowing stories to be shared, remembered, and treasured long after we’re gone.
Being able to tell your story, the way you want to, can be empowering. Knowing your loved ones will have a direct line to you, hearing your story, can be comforting. An important piece of who you are goes on.
. . . . . . . . . .
These videos can be conducted with people of any age, from 30s to 90s. I am happy to tailor videos to meet your unique needs, such as capturing your perspective across time – adding videos 5 years and on down the line – to create a powerful story of your loved ones perspectives and memories.
I often hear people say “ I can’t remember anything” or “I won’t be able to fill the time.” In my experience, the outcome is the same: the camera starts rolling, the questions are asked, and a persons story fills the space.
The videos will look similarly to ‘home videos,’ like the ones we cherished growing up. Whether you want to feature an individual, film two people separately, or record a couple together, I’m here to bring your stories to life. Additionally, I can help preserve your family history by filming cherished artifacts like photos, trinkets, and even your home or property. Let’s create something timeless that you and your loved ones can treasure for years to come.
After all, we’re all stories in the end.
Please know that there is an intake process where I will share how the interview is conducted, and ask thorough questions about the interviewee to make sure their video is handled with the utmost care. The intake does not need to be done with the interviewee and can be done with a relative or friend. Services can be set up in the form of a gift to a loved one. I am dedicated to the interviewee’s satisfaction with their video and I feel very passionate in curating a safe and sacred space for them to share their life, wisdom, and magic of their being.
